Dr. Bernadette Aulivola, MD, MS, RVT, RPVI, FACS, DFSVS is the Director of the Division of Vascular Surgery & Endovascular Therapy at Loyola University Health System. She is a Professor of Surgery and serves as Vice-Chair for Inclusive Excellence in the Department of Surgery at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. Aulivola is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. She completed her general surgery residency training at the Rush University Medical Center/Cook County Hospital program in Chicago, and Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the Beth Israel Deaconess/Harvard Hospitals program in Boston. She earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research Methodolgy from Loyola University. Dr. Aulivola is Board Certified in both Surgery and Vascular Surgery. She is RVT and RPVI certified by the ARDMS. She holds multiple leadership roles regionally and nationally including Past President of the Midwest Vascular Surgical Society. Dr. Aulivola is an Associate Editor of the 10th and 11th Edition of Rutherford's Vascular Surgery textbook and has authored numerous book chapters, invited reviews and peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Aulivola is a Director of the Vascular Surgery Board of the American Board of Surgery (2017-2028) and was elected as a Councilor of the American Board of Surgery (2022-2028). Dr. Aulivola's clinical practice covers a broad range of vascular care, including venous disease, peripheral and carotid artery disease, arterial aneurysms, arteriovenous access, anterior exposure of the spine and vascular trauma with particular areas of interest including peripheral artery disease, limb salvage, venous disease and healthcare disparities.
