Dr. Ali Azizzadeh is an internationally recognized vascular surgeon, researcher, and educator specializing in minimally invasive treatment of vascular disease. His clinical expertise encompasses aortic aneurysms, aortic dissection, carotid disease, peripheral arterial disease, thoracic outlet syndrome, and varicose veins.
Dr. Azizzadeh earned his medical degree and completed a general surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He then pursued a vascular surgery fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. Prior to joining Cedars-Sinai in 2017, he was a tenured Professor and Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth and the Memorial Hermann Heart & Vascular Institute in Houston, TX.
An active researcher, Dr. Azizzadeh has led numerous studies on novel surgical techniques, stent grafts, and other vascular devices, serving as the US Principal Investigator for multiple clinical trials. He has authored or co-authored over 370 scientific publications, including journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters, and has delivered more than 280 invited lectures to audiences worldwide.
Dr. Azizzadeh is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Distinguished Fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery (DFSVS). He is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the American Surgical Association, American Heart Association, Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, Western Vascular Society, and the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery.
He is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Aortic Trauma Foundation (ATF) and has served as an editorial board member or reviewer for leading journals such as the Journal of Vascular Surgery and Annals of Vascular Surgery. His contributions to teaching and research have been widely recognized, and he has repeatedly been named among Top Doctors by the Los Angeles Magazine, Angeleno Magazine, Southern California Super Doctors Magazine, and Castle Connolly Top Doctors.
